Nothing compares to the feeling of getting back to a place you missed. This feeling proved to be a profound experience in returning to Seattle recently. Back in 2019, I had last been in Seattle right before the COVID lock downs, and now that much of that was behind, I was jubilant to return to one of my favorite cities.

The first coffee shop on my list to visit was a place called Realfine Coffee. Perfectly situated near my lodging in West Seattle, I made my way over the second they were open one morning to find the roads tranquil and the coffee shop already abuzz with regulars. The exterior is simple and sharp, with wide front windows and some outdoor red chairs. Inside, the cafe had a variety of seating amidst a minimal yet adamantly appealing decor.

As for the coffee, they were slinging brews of Herkimer, so I went with an espresso of Espresso Blend and a drip of a single origin Colombian. The espresso, pulled short with brown crema, smacked of chocolate blackberry, croissant, cherries, orange marmalade and milk, proving toothsome and supple. The drip also demonstrated excellence, with smooth notes of caramel, peach, almond, fresh bread and chocolate hazelnuts.

After relishing my drinks slowly for a bit, I made my way onto the rest of my day with one excellent coffee stop under my belt. If you're in Seattle, definitely try out one of the locations of Realfine Coffee.
