A solid breakfast with a good cup of coffee is one of the greatest joys of life, and yet so often hard to find. Good breakfast joints still rarely do a great job with their coffee, and coffee shops usually can't/don't offer solid breakfast options like eggs benedict and huevos rancheros. But every now and then such a rare delight emerges, such as Stay Golden.
Located in what feels like an upscale industrial park in Nashville, Stay Golden is a reputable eatery with a voluminous interior and plenty of interest. The decor is sharp, with much seating on two floors and plenty of interest from the local community.
As for coffee, they utilize their own coffee called Good Citizen. The day of my visit, I ordered up an espresso of a single origin Colombian and a drip of their Chin Up blend. The espresso, pulled short/medium with light brown crema, smacked of chocolate, lemon, cream, sesame and a little grape. The drip also proved delicious, with notes of dates, nougat, sorghum, peach, milk and a little romaine.
