I love taking my family on road trips. With a packed minivan filled to the teeth, I would far rather take a long pilgrimage with my wife and kids versus a solo trip. But on these wonderful excursions, one lovely feature that has grown over the years is a tradition that some mornings, everyone asks to sleep in and I am permitted to wake up at sunrise in order to hit a nearby coffee shop or two.
Such was a morning I found myself on the doorstep of Camber. I had long desired to visit since they had opened their doors back in 2018, and finally I had the opportunity on a clear, sunny Saturday. While the town was just waking, I walked into their gorgeously arrayed shop full of natural light and copious seating to find their gorgeous establishment just opening.
The staff of the shop were abuzz with activity yet very accommodating as I settled on my coffees for the day. I chose an espresso of their Anniversary blend and a drip of the Skyline. The espresso, pulled short with brown crema, smacked of chocolate, lemon, lingonberry, milk, orange zest and a little romaine, proving multifaceted and full of sunshine. The drip also lit sparklers, with smooth notes of almond, sweet cranberry, grapes, pound cake, fresh corn, cherry jam and dates.
While I took my time drinking in the short time with my beverages, I soon had to head out to get back to the family waking up, so I mosied along content with my visit. If you ever happen to be in Bellingham, definitely check out Camber.
