Every now and then in my travels, I come across a gorgeous coffee shop. But every once in a great while, I meet a cafe that has iconic aesthetics. One of my most recent finds was a shop nestled in an old factory furnace in Red Lion, PA with much of its old construction still intact, a place called Grounding.
Located in the middle of the old table factory grounds, the shop has apartments and other enterprises around it. The cafe has the first floor with seating in a semi-outside space and a large circular bar, which leads to the large staircase with the voluminous second floor full of board games, usable rooms and lots of natural light.
As for the coffee, they source their beans from Alabaster out of Williamsport. The day of my first visit, I ordered an espresso of their Pugilist blend and drip of a single origin Papua New Guinea. The espresso, pulled short/med with brown crema, smacked of chocolate, lemon, orange peel, vanilla and graham cracker, proving sumptuous and smooth. The drip coffee also made for an excellent cup, with delightful notes of wheat, apple, butter, honey, cascara and black tea.
After spending some relaxing moments at the cafe, it was time to bid adieu to the shop. If you ever happen to be in the area of Red Lion, definitely give Grounding a visit for some excellent coffee.

Grounding sounds like a gem! We love the character of a cafe that preserves its unique industrial roots, creating an ambiance that’s perfect for both unwinding and productivity. From the sound of it, Grounding’s coffee experience is just as impressive, featuring quality brews from Alabaster with rich, complex notes—perfect for serious coffee lovers. A blend of great aesthetics and fine coffee makes this spot a must-visit for anyone in Red Lion. Thanks for sharing
