There exist many combinations of services I have seen with a coffee shop, but a tattoo parlor would be a first for me.
Sadly I still have yet to witness the combo in action, but I visited such a cafe before the permanent skin decoration began. Located in Kissimmee, XO Coffee Shop was a perfect detour on a rainy day in Florida. I showed up to their location to find a beautifully decorated cafe with many windows and plenty of seating.
As for coffee, they offered coffee from roasters like 8&R and Airship, of which I ordered an espresso of 8&R's Sunflower and a drip of Airship's Buffalo. The espresso, pulled short/medium with brown crema, smacked of chocolate, lemon, caramel, licorice, milk and rose with a fleck of cardamom, proving sweet and spiced. The drip proved brighter and also excellent, with notes of cherry cola, graham cracker, strawberry shortcake, caramel and baked apples.
Since my visit, part of the space has taken on a tattoo parlor and I hope to one day visit for at least an espresso. If you happen to be in the area, definitely give XO a stop for some coffee and/or body art.
