Virginia has been a crossroads for many of my trips, but nearly every time, new spots to visit often show up. One recent road trip due southwest, I came across a cute town called Strasburg with a promising coffee shop, a place called Nancy's Coffee Bar.
Nancy's sits in a orange-red brick building with large windows and a fairly simple set-up. Inside the shop holds but one room with some merchandise organized around the space, but overall designed to be spacious and airy, especially since they share seating in the neighboring corridor with a brewery.
As for coffee, they serve up fellow Virginian coffee enterprise Red Rooster. As for coffee that day, I had an espresso of Old Crow and a pour over of a single origin Nicaragua. The espresso, pulled short/medium with brown crema, smacked of chocolate, peaches, biscuits, lemon rind, sweet cream and arugula, proving bright and delicious. The filtered coffee also made for a delectable coffee, with smooth notes of vanilla, honey, oats, waffle, bib lettuce, pear preserves and sweet corn.
While I would have loved to hang out and watch the hours pass as I sipped on various beverages, the road called and I still had some hours left to conquer. Nonetheless, if you're passing through or happen to be nearby, stop at Nancy's Coffee Bar.
