Driving through Fargo in the afternoon one balmy Wednesday, I was eager to find a good cup of coffee to help fuel me onto my sleeping destination in eastern Minnesota. After a brief search for parking, I found myself on the steps of a Fargo area gem, Twenty Below Coffee Co.
The Fargo location is situated in a first-story building with large front windows. Twenty Below is a long shop full of woods and great lighting, offering a vast array of beverages and coffee accessories. The shop was abuzz with patrons that afternoon and much of the copious seating was occupied.
As for coffee, I went with their Plaid Buffalo for an espresso and a drip infusion of Blizzard of 66. The espresso, pulled short/medium with brown crema, smacked of chocolate, hazelnut, peach, seaweed, orange marmalade, cream soda and poppy seed, proving sweet and vibrant. The drip coffee also proved excellent, with sweet notes of cocoa and walnut.
In the end, I could not stay long but I enjoyed every minute of my visit. If you happen to be in Fargo or the area nearby, definitely stop by Twenty Below for some great coffee.
