Adagio Tea

Subject: Adagio Tea
Tea Mugged [pictured above from left to right]:
- Golden Spring
- Ooooh Darjeeling
- Thai Chai

While coffee is my favorite drink, tea is certainly a close second. Especially in the past decade, it seems like the tea options have exploded, with a larger variety of teas becoming more easily available to the tea drinking public, not to mention a higher popularity of tea-based beverages entering the menu at local cafes (think match lattes and london fogs).

Thus it is with great interest that I like to explore different teas when I get a chance. Recently I had the opportunity to try out a variety of teas from Adagio Tea, and after a bit of sipping, I found three teas that really stood out amongst the lot. It should be noted that each tea was infused according to the direction on the packaging, all brewed with filtered water.

The first tea was their Golden Spring, a black tea from Fujian province of China, harvested early in the spring. Given the color mix from the buds and leaves, the tea possesses a visual appeal that most black teas lack. The tea brewed deliciously, with a light body throwing down notes pear and raisin, finishing with a light bitterness.

The next up was Ooooh Darjeeling, an uncommon oolong from the famed Darjeeling area of India. The tea definitely tasted similar to the darjeeling teas I have sipped but seemed to be sweeter, with notes of prune and peaches, polishing off like a thick cup of tea-like honey.

My final standout was the Thai Chai, a chai mix strongly accentuated by coconut and lemongrass. Over the years I have had a fair amount of chais but this one definitely stood out, with the flavor combination really making for a lively and potent infusion. And while I didn't get a chance to try it, this chai would probably perform exquisitely in steamed milk with a little honey.

All together, these three teas proved to be new favorites in my arsenal. Whether one of these teas jumped out to you or it's piqued your curiosity, check out Adagio Tea for a wide variety of delicious options ranging the gauntlet from black to herbal.
