Mission Coffee Co

In my past few times through Columbus, I had only been afforded views of the city from the interstate, as each time my passage through the city was either late at night, or unfortunately paired with a hurried time table. Thankfully, on my most recent visit to the city, I was able to make time for some good coffee.

One of the stops I was able to visit was Mission Coffee Co, a coffee roaster still in the process of building their cafe. Fortunately, their roasting space was open to the public, albeit a slight challenge to find. But after seeking assistance from a kind neighbor, I found my way to the roastery in the back part of a giant warehouse. Set up primarily for function, the space boasted plenty of charm and realistically, with some added furniture, could easily function as a cafe.

The day of my visit, they were mostly offering their beans for sale (of which I grabbed a bag) as well as drip coffee. The batch brew that day was a single origin Peru, which blasted me with super sweet notes of apple, sugar cookies, lemon, sweet corn and a little bit of bib lettuce in a medium body.

While my interaction with Mission Coffee Co. was brief, it stood as an encouraging prelude to the excellence to be found at their cafe. In the meantime, if you seek some drip coffee and/or excellent beans, check out Mission Coffee Co. in Columbus.

These wonderful folks made this visit possible in part. Make sure to check them out!
