Kru Coffee

While Saratoga springs is known best for its horses, the area also possesses a beautiful history and lovely town. I recall my first visit over a decade ago while driving through the area and ever since have desired to make a detour when traveling nearby.

But now exists and even better reason to swing by the Queen of the Spas due to a coffee roaster and cafe called Kru. Situated in a large retail area outside of town, this establishment boasts a two-story space outfitted with a rustic bar area, plenty of seating and lots of windows to draw in the natural light.

The day of my visit, I settled upon and espresso of a single origin Honduras and a cup of their Turning Point blend via drip. The espresso, hold short/medium with brown crema, smackdown chocolate, lime, roasted nuts, milk, pretzel and spinach, proving dry and tasty. The batch brew of Turning Point proved similarly delicious yet much more vibrant, with notes of almond, pink lady apple, blueberry, caramel, lettuce and cherry tomatoes.

Although I don't get to the area as much as I would like, I definitely have a great coffee pit stop the next time I make it north. Whether you are passing through or live in the area, definitely check out Kru Coffee.
