I have fabulous memories of Bethlehem, PA. I recall visiting a distant cousin and going to a Christmas market as a child, stopping by for numerous respites while passing through and recently, a long-overdue tour of the silent steel mill. Sadly not many of these visits had a great coffee stop but that fortunately changed on my most recent visit.
After a long day of outside activity, I found myself at the doorstep of Lit Coffee Roastery and Bakeshop. The retail arm of Monocacy Coffee Co., Lit offers a cozy shop full of seating and natural light, armed with great coffee.
As for my coffee that day, I had an espresso of their Iron Man blend and a drip infusion of their Bound For Glory. The espresso, pulled to a medium volume with brown crema, smacked of chocolate, cream, clementine, romaine, fig and a little lemon zest, proving supple and bright. The drip also made for a bombastic brew, with vibrant notes of cherry, milk chocolate, passion fruit, whole milk, caramel and a touch of nutmeg.
While my time at Lit was short, I greatly enjoyed my experience. If you happen to be in or passing through Bethlehem, definitely stop by Lit for some Monocacy beans.
