Spencer's Coffee

Some time ago, when I first visited Bowling Green, I remember being tired and exhausted, sitting in a parking lot with (at least) a cranky toddler and a decent drive ahead of us. In the moment, I remember deciding that despite my weariness, I would not grab coffee in Bowling Green but would wait til later somewhere closer to our distant destination.

How I regretted that decision.

Now, some years later when I made it back to Bowling Green, I made sure to seek out some local coffee. I found myself at Spencer's Coffee in the lovely downtown. Situated in a shop with large front windows and some outside seating, inside the cafe has tall ceilings, exposed brick, wood furniture and hordes of patrons.

As for coffee, I went with their Espresso Blend for espresso and their Front Porch for drip coffee. The espresso, pulled medium/long with brown crema, smacked of chocolate, lime zest, malt, toffee, pretzel, cream and corn, proving deep and sweet. The drip coffee made for a good cup as well, with sultry notes of pear, milk, caramel and snap pea in a medium body.

After hanging out for a bit, again the road called like before, but this time I felt rejuvenated and ready. If you're in the area of Bowling Green, definitely head over to a Spencer's location for some good coffee.
