While driving around Bismark, I found myself hankering for a good cup of coffee and great meal. Sometimes hoping to find both in the same place can be a fool's errand, as few places do them both well, but fortunately I was blessed in finding Terra Nomad.
Stopping by their cafe downtown on a warm, sunny afternoon, I found their location to have large open windows leading into a huge spacious cafe. The shop itself has tall ceilings, a sharp aesthetic and a full menu (for food, I ordered a delicious bean-based dish)
As for my coffee that day, they were serving up Youngblood out of Fargo. I settled on an espresso of their Jetsetter blend and a drip coffee of a single origin Peru. The espresso, pulled long with light brown crema, smacked of sweet cocoa, lime, cherry, vanilla cake, ginger and a little lemongrass, proving bright and super smooth. The drip coffee also made for a flavorful coffee, with notes of nectarine, whipped cream, sourdough, root beer, cream cheese and romaine.
While their downtown shop is temporarily closed as of March 31, 2022, as they are in the process of moving, keep an eye out on their website for their new location and other stuff they're up to in the interim. I am sure whatever they got planned for the future will be excellent.
