Ever drive by a shop and wonder why in the world a quality coffee shop has not opened within? I have had that phenomenom happen many times, but none more often than on the corner of Delaware and Broad in Woodbury. The space had all the trimmings for over twenty years(!) but never had a quality tenant hile I have traveled by until finally this past year.

One recent morning, I noticed on a whim while searching for good coffee that a coffeehouse serving Square One opened in Woodbury. Sure enough, I pulled up to the fabled spot I thought forever bereft and found Whole and Grounded Cafe. Situated in a beautiful space with lots of windows and plenty of seating, the interior brims with open vibes and plenty of seating.
As for the coffee, I went with an espresso of their Candy Bar blend and a drip of Night Cap. The espresso, pulled medium with brown crema, smacked of lemon, chocolate, pomegranate tea and a little coriander, proving sweet and bright. The drip also made for a tasty cup, with notes of sugar cookie, vanilla, bran, black cherry, orange peel and some romaine in a medium body
While I would have liked to have stayed longer, I had to be on my way to church, so I capped off my drinks and hit the road. If you happen to be near Woodbury, definitely check out Whole and Grounded.
