Rise Coffee House

Everyone wants a good coffeehouse somewhere in their morning routine, whether they know it or not. There's something transcendently better about grabbing a cup of freshly-made quality drip coffee with an egg-laden buttermilk biscuit from a local coffee purveyor, versus making it at home or work. Fortunately for the folks of The Grove in St. Louis, Rise Coffee House exists to make such AM dreams a reality.

Located in a two-story brick building with a bright front and a large back patio, Rise offers quite a bit of space for thirsty patrons wishing to meet up for a solid breakfast or to work away the afternoon. The day of my visit, the place was fairly busy with still plenty of seating on both floors and outside.

As for coffee, they offer up beans from their own hands as well as guest roasters like Sump and Blueprint. After up some minor deliberation, I went with an espresso and a drip coffee of an in-house single origin Colombian. The espresso, pulled short/medium with light brown crema, issued forth lemon, chocolate, elderberry syrup, watermelon candy and sourdough toast, proving sweet, fruity and delicious. The filtered coffee infusion proved a little more sweet, with notes of apple, cream, clementine and cascara, along with some notes of wheat, biscuits and oats.

After awhile it was time to rembrace the road, so I polished off my liquids and quietly pined for a place like Rise on my work commute. If you happen to be in St. Louis, definitely check out Rise Coffee for a good cup of coffee and/or a great place to meet-up.

These wonderful folks made this visit possible in part. Make sure to check them out!

I came across your review on Rise Coffee House as I expect to visit St. Louis in the next few months and was looking for a good coffee house. Like you I need my morning coffee at a coffee outlet, it's just not the same when you prepare the coffee at home - not that I ever say 'no' to any offer of a coffee although many a cup have not been very enjoyable. I will try to visit the Rise Coffee House when I visit St. Louis.

Best
Isabella.
