Tis a loss for Atlanta.

While I understand the risks, I personally love shopping for clothes with my coffee in hand. Of course there have been a few times employees have asked me to cease my sippings until I've cleared the register, but most places don't seem to mind (I think it's due to my observable dexterity with a mug). And while I am used to this peaceful coexistence I find at most retail outlets, every now and then I find a store that not only embraces the fusion of coffee and fashion, but that sells both.

Take Henry and June, a combination cafe and fashion boutique located on the sunny streets of Atlanta's North Highland Avenue. With a reputation for slinging great coffee alongside their lovely textiles, I hurried yonder to see the place for myself.

Full of sunlight, the front coffeehouse greeted me with a beautiful mix of white and copper, all well complimented with the black floor. The space seamlessly flows into the boutique, a treasure trove filled with great finds unique to town. As for coffee, they sport Crema and Steadfast out of Nashville as well as local Octane (also where the two owners first met). As for my coffee that day, I settled upon a Mexican espresso from Crema and a Papua New Guinea pourover from Steadfast. The espresso, pulled short with brown crema, softly whistled lemongrass, chocolate chip cookies, sea salt, sweet flowers and a little kale, proving bright and balanced. The pourover rocked out notes of honey, gala apple, caramel, black tea, cherry, lavender and a bit of cabbage in a light/medium body.

Not only did I get to wander the shop with my coffee, the barista proved engaging throughout my visit, providing a wealth of information on local coffee. Without a doubt, stop by Henry and Junes for some great coffee and a new outfit when you're in Atlanta.

These wonderful folks made this visit possible in part. Make sure to check them out!
