I have traversed Pennsylvania many times and it still remains full of towns to visit. On a recent return trip from Pittsburgh, I had a hankering for some coffee and a local shop came up as decent place to check out.

I have traversed Pennsylvania many times and it still remains full of towns to visit. On a recent return trip from Pittsburgh, I had a hankering for some coffee and a local shop came up as decent place to check out.
In the lovely town of Roaring Springs, I found The Vault Cafe. Situated in a huge stone building with gorgeous windows and a shared courtyard, the shop held a stately presence amidst the surrounding structures. Inside, the shop had a mixture of brick and other stone walls, a tin ceiling and copious seating.
As for coffee, they were serving Alabaster Coffee, and thus I ordered an espresso of the Sabra blend and a drip of the Vault. The espresso, pulled to a medium volume with brown crema, smacked of chocolate, lemon, coriander, pear, orange peel, rye and a little romaine, proving nicely sweet. The drip also hit the spot, with notes apple pie, croissant, apricot preserves, cream and fresh snap peas.
After drinking in the coffee and the beautiful surroundings, I had to be back on the road, bidding the local town adieu. If you happen to be in the area, stop by Roaring Spring for some good coffee at The Vault Cafe.
