Abracadabra Coffee Company

Subject: Abracadabra Coffee Company
Location: Woodstock, VT
Rating: 6+ [see key]

Just when I think that I've seen most of the many towns of Vermont, I come across a notable gem that somehow evaded me. Heading north to bask amidst the mountain landscapes in their summer glory, I managed to evade (most of) the hordes and found myself at a giant coffee barn in Woodstock.

Abracadabra Coffee Company sits outside the main part of town in a section all to itself. Bordered by a glorious stream the hillside, the giant building leads to a rustic yet visually potetic interior. At the center lies a coffee trailer customized to contain the coffee bar, while all around there lies tables, chairs and exposed wood framing.

Roasting their coffee in the same building, they offer a variety of tantalizing options. Having arrived shortly before they were closing up, I went with an espresso of Guava Banana and a drip of Dark Times. The espresso, pulled short/medium with brown crema, smacked of cherry, sweet cocoa, fresh banana, chocolate croissant and hibiscus, proving sweet and bright. The filtered coffee also made for an excellent brew, with luscious notes of caramel, chocolate, strawberry yogurt, hazelnut and cola.

After drinking in the atmosphere and polishing off most of my beverages (I took some of the drip to go), I made my way back into the northern breezes, eager to see what gem awaits next. If you happen to be near Woodstock, definitely take a stop by Abracadabra.
