SIP Cafe and Coffee Bar

There are few things that rival a beautiful, sunny drive through the hills and mountains of western Massachusetts. While the wilds still remain largely unexplored to me, I have had the pleasure of venturing into many of the towns around the area, with one of my favorite being Northampton. Its dapper shop-lined streets and surprising number of coffee establishments has consistently brought me in town whenever I'm passing through.

The latest beacon to draw my gaze was a shop called Sip. Located on a sloping street in the heart of town, Sip offers a spacious venue decked with an eclectic decor mixed amidst white walls, wood tables and the beams of sun pouring through the front windows.

When it comes to coffee, they serve up a healthy dose of Counter Culture. During my visit, I ordered an espresso of their Big Trouble blend and a pourover of the Line Drawing. The espresso, pulled medium with brown crema, exploded with fireworks of chocolate chips, strawberry lemonade, romaine, bacon, birch beer and cream, proving smooth and saccharine. The pourover trumpeted out a multifaceted melody of hot chocolate, flan, berry, grape tomato, frosted flakes, whole milk and hibiscus in a medium body.

Pleased and thoroughly sated, I left Sip Cafe and Coffee Bar a chipper fella. If you happen to be in the area of Northampton for school, work or pleasure, definitely stop by the fine digs of Sip for some excellent coffee.

These wonderful folks made this visit possible in part. Make sure to check them out!
