The early weekend morning of a city is often a blissful landscape. Most still slumber at the usual rush hours, with only folks required to be awake wandering about. One delightful morning in Victoria offered me a delightful experience and my path through Chinatown brought me to the doors of my coffee destination, Discovery Coffee.
Dubbed "The Original" of their many locations, the shop was just opening and I found myself the first customer for the day. The shop offers a plethora of seats, a calming decor and plenty of morning light.
As for coffee, I got an espresso of the Discovery Street blend and a drip infusion of a single original Peruvian. The espresso, pulled short/medium with brown crema, offered notes of lemon, chocolate chip cookie, cornbread, apple and some spinach, proving balanced and sweet. The drip coffee also delivered an excellent infusion, with flavors of honey, apple, caramel, raisin and a little bib lettuce.
After polishing off my beverages, I left energized and quite pleased with my experience. If you happen to be in Victoria, definitely stop by a Discovery Coffee location.
