Driving through the lands west of Philly bring you through a variety of towns. It's fascinating how the landscape shifts between rich suburbs, farms and old towns, but the tapestry always unearths news gems.
One recent gem I got to visit out past King of Prussia is a coffee roaster and cafe named Ebru. Located in an old fire hall or mechanic shop, the space is richly repurposed, with gorgeous glass garage doors, beautiful furniture and a really sharp bar from which the shop operates.
As for coffee, I had an espresso of their Ethiopian and a drip infusion of an El Salvador. The espresso, pulled medium/long with light brown crema, smacked of chocolate, lemon candy, caramel chews, maple syrup and walnuts, proving sweet and smooth. The drip coffee also made for a great cup, with notes of cocoa, malt, apple, cream, sourdough and buttered corn.
After hanging out for a bit and enjoying my beverages, the road home beckoned and I answered. If you're looking for a good cup of coffee in Audubon, check out Ebru.
