It is not often I get to western Pennsylvania, but when I do I manage to always pass a sign advertising Grove City. Maybe it's that my wife points it out because she visited the town when she was looking at colleges with her father and sister back in the day, but regardless the reason, it wasn't until recently that I was finally able to make a visit.

Well, almost. Technically I still never made it to Grove City but to a Grove City coffee shop that had planted its second location on the outskirts. Collage Coffee has a beautiful cafe in a shopping center right near the highway that proved to be a perfect geographic respite on a drive east. Offering tall ceilings and a really voluminous atmosphere, the shop was bathed in warm light on the day of my visit.

As for coffee, I went with an espresso of a single origin Honduras and a drip infusion of a Tanzanian. The espresso, pulled short/medium with brown crema, smacked of chocolate, brie, corn, apple, cherry cola and tangerine, proving bright and sweet. The same fireworks followed in the filtered coffee, with delightful notes of honey, fresh toast, apple, corn flakes, mango, chocolate and little almond.

After taking a nice break to stretch my legs and drink some coffee, the road beckoned and I now have an even greater desire to visit Grove City proper. If you happen to be in town, definitely stop by a location of Collage Coffee.
