There are a few states that hold a special place in my heart, and the hardest one to physically get to has been Montana. After a decade of foiled attempts, I finally found myself back in Bozeman just a few months ago. North of Yellowstone and full of old memories, I was delighted to find so many good coffee options, some from yore but many new to me.

One coffee establishment I had been looking to visit for some time was Treeline Coffee Roasters. Arriving one morning at their beautiful hangar-like shop outside of town, I found a cafe bustling with patrons and full of beautiful decor amidst copious seating.

As for coffee, I settled upon an espresso of their Blackbeard blend and a pourover of a single origin Colombia. The espresso, pulled short/medium with browan crema, smacked of chocolate, blueberry, almond croissant, heavy cream, rhubarb and sweet corn, proving bright and delicious. The pourover also delivered a vibrant brew, exploding with passion fruit, cherry soda, wheat, orange peel, hibiscus and a little caramel.

Despite the long wait to visit, Treeline definitely helped make the visit back to Bozeman worth it. If you're nearby, definitely make a side trip to grab some excellent coffee at Treeline Coffee Roasters.

These wonderful folks made this visit possible in part. Make sure to check them out!
