The more I drive around the country, the more I appreciate small towns. While cities still cradle a chunk of my heart, there's nothing like a tree-lined boulevard, easy parking or finding a great coffee shop on a country road.

One such coffee find was the Rustic Cup, located in the town of East Prospect, a little east of York. With an ever-improving coffee presence in nearby towns such as Lancaster and Harrisburg, Rustic Cup caught my ear with rumors of serving good coffee to their local patrons. With a trip running past the area planned, I took the opportunity to stop in one day while on my way west.

Outfitted in a one-story building shared with Pizza Town USA, Rustic Cup offers a cozy cafe with plenty of seating. They offer several coffees from regional coffee heroes Alabaster Coffee and Tea Co, a welcome sight outside Williamsport. I ordered an espresso of a Pugilist blend and a pour over of an El Salvador single origin. The espresso, pulled short/medium with brown crema tasted of cocoa, lemon, raspberry, bran, milk and a little green apple, making for a tasty and robust espresso. The pourover also proved delightful, with notes of raisins, almond cookies, cream, wheat, malt and mustard greens in a medium body.

After relaxing with my coffee for a short respite, the road beckoned and I headed further west. If you happen to be in the area of East Prospect, definitely drop by the Rustic Cup for a great cup of coffee.

These wonderful folks made this visit possible in part. Make sure to check them out!
