In my early life, indoor markets were a constant presence. Always a deal seeker, my mother would drag my siblings and me to a local mart known for its lackluster decor and bottom dollar prices. Needless to say, this impressed upon me that such bazaars were doomed to be poorly lit, suspicious spots where cheap goods were peddled and greasy sandwiches were hocked. But the older I grew, the more I have come across a greater diversity of indoor markets that actually offer superb products in increasingly beautiful spaces.

One such gem of a local indoor market is the East End Market of Orlando. Outfitted with only a dozen or so vendors, what they lack in size they make up for in quality. The market exists within a large building off Corrine Drive in lovely Orlando. One sunny morning, I made my way over, with my sights on one specific East Ender vendor: coffee purveyor Lineage Coffee Roasting.

Lineage operates out of a gorgeously crafted stall, with white subway tiles and wood shelves accenting the simple yet slick space. As the barista buzzed busily at fulfilling orders, I took my place in a line as many other eager patrons queued up. The rest of the market was just opening up so the line existed amidst a slight buzz of other vendors starting to get ready for the day.

Without an espresso machine, the coffee options were simply pourover and cold brew. Many of the folks in front of me purchased one of their cold brew options (black or white), a testament to the popularity of their bottled concoction. But my sights were on their Ethiopia Adado. Prepared diligently, this smooth, bright brew smacked of semi-sweet chocolate, blueberry, tangerine, vanilla, oolong, arugula and slight hazelnut in a light/medium body.

All together, I left extremely satisfied with my experience and coffee. If you're in Orlando looking for some great coffee, definitely take some time to visit Lineage and check out the rest of East End Market.

These wonderful folks made this visit possible in part. Make sure to check them out!
